A 50-year-old man has died after a house fire in Derby, over 20 firefighters tackled the blaze in the early hours of this morning.
Despite the man being rescued by firefighters he was pronounced dead on arrival at hospital
Despite the man being rescued from the house in Holtlands Drive, Alvaston he was pronounced dead on arrival at hospital.
An investigation into the fire has been launched though it is believed the cause was accidental.

Derbyshire house fire latest
A 50-year-old man has died following a house fire in Derby.
Four crews from Derbyshire Fire and Rescue were sent to a house in Holtlands Drive in Alvaston, Derby, in the early hours of this morning.
Firefighters managed to rescue the man from the property but he was pronounced dead on arrival at hospital.
An investigation is taking place but it is believed that the fire was an accident.

The fire service received the call just after 2:30 this morning.
One man was taken to hospital where he later died. All the other people in the house were accounted for.

Road re-opened after police operation in Alvaston, Derby
A man has been arrested on suspicion of involvement in the supply of Class A drugs.
Police closed London Road in Alvaston in Derby, after visiting a house at around 12.30pm. A 24-year-old man was arrested and is in police custody.
The road has now been re-opened.
"We would like to thank the public for their patience and co-operation during the road closure. London Road is a busy street and we closed it in order to maintain public safety while officers were in the area.”
