Ambulance service "closure isn't about finances"

There have been protests this morning over plans to close ambulance stations in Nottinghamshire.

Campaigners believe lives could be put at risk but East Midlands Ambulance Service says replacing the stations with a number of super hubs and standby points, will improve efficiency.

There have been protests this morning over plans to close ambulance stations in Nottinghamshire.

Campaigners in Retford believe lives could be put at risk but East Midlands Ambulance Service says replacing the stations with a number of super hubs and standby points, will improve efficiency.

A consultation has begun over plans to close 66 ambulance stations and replace them with 13 purpose built Superhubs.
