Police are appealing for information after an armed robbery in Top Valley in Nottingham. Staff at the Post Office counter at the McColls in Bestwood Park Drive West were threatened by a man with a metal pole who demanded money. It happened at about 1pm yesterday.

The man is described as white, about 6ft tall and was wearing black.

Photos released of Oldbury supermarket robbery

Police have released photos of three men in relation to an armed robbery at a supermarket in Oldbury in May.

Staff at Morrisons were threatened by a group of armed men who entered the shop with iron bars armed 9pm on May 7. They were forced to hand over a large amount of cash. Nobody was injured but members of staff were left very shaken by the robbery.

The first man is described as 5ft 6ins tall, of stocky build, wearing a jacket which had a light blue top half and dark blue bottom half.

The second is described as around 6ft tall, of stocky build, wearing a blue hooded top with white stripes down the arms.

The third suspect is described as around 6ft tall, of a slim build and was wearing a black hooded top.

Anyone who thinks they may know their identity is urged to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.


Armed robbery in Shropshire

Police are appealing for witnesses after an armed robbery in Newport, Shropshire, yesterday

At around 11:20am, a cashier at Britannia on High Street was threatened into handing over a significant quantity of cash to a man who appeared to be holding a handgun.

The cashier filled a carrier bag with the money and the man then left the bank, walking back onto High Street.

The man is described as white, in his 30s, of a slim build and was either balding or had closely cropped hair. He was wearing a dark jacket, blue jeans and white trainers.

He also wore a distinctive pair of very dark, wraparound sunglasses.

Arrests after armed robbery

Five people have been in connection with an armed robbery in Trentham in Stoke this morning,

Officers were called to the car park of the Hem Heath pub inTrentham Road just after 11.10am after a cash delivery driver raised the alarm.

Police say he was threatened by at least two men, thought to have been carrying a firearm. The gang escaped with a substantial amont of money.

Botched shotgun robbery at Derbyshire bookies

A shotgun was fired during a robbery at a bookmakers in Ilkeston last night. Two masked offenders burst into Coral Bookmakers, in Nottingham Road, at about 9:30pm.

They threatened members of staff with the firearm, before pulling the trigger. No one was injured and the pair fled empty-handed.

They were white, in their 20s and were wearing dark clothing.

The shop remains taped off this morning.


Video of attempted robbery released by Warwickshire Police

Police investigating an attempted armed robbery at the Heart of England Co-op in Rugby shortly after 7:30pm last Wednesday night (March 6), have now released a video of the incident in the hope of catching the offender.

The video shows the hooded assailant use a weapon wrapped in a plastic bag to jab a female staff member in the face, causing injuries to her left eye which needed hospital treatment.

He then left the store empty handed.

The offender is described as a white male with a scarf covering the lower part of his face. He is thought to be in his 20s, about 5'8 to 5' 10" tall and slim build.
