Man charged in connection with 16-year-old's death

An eighteen-year-old male has been charged in connection with the death of 16-year-old Ben Morutare.

The man who is from West Bromwich was charged yesterday with violent disorder.

He has been bailed to appear before Warley Magistrates Court in December.

Ben died after he was stabbed outside a club on Oldbury Road in Smethwick, back in July of this year.

Two people have been charged with murder and four other people have been charged with violent disorder.

The investigation continues and officers continue to appeal for help to identify people they want to speak to as part of the inquiry.

Further arrests in connection with Sandwell teen murder

Two further arrests have been made in connection with the death of Sandwell teenager Ben Morutare.

Police say two males were arrested on suspicion of violent disorder yesterday, a 16-year-old from Smethwick and a 17-year-old from Edgbaston.

Both males have been bailed pending further enquiries.

Officers are continuing to trace three outstanding people seen in CCTV footage as part of their investigation into the death of 16-year-old Ben who was stabbed on 28 July.

Ten of the thirteen people have now been identified.

A 17-year-old has been charged with Ben's murder but police say the investigation is ongoing.

Two other teenagers have been charged with violent disorder, one of whom is also facing a charge of perverting the course of justice.

A teenager has appeared in court charged with the murder of a 16-year-old boy in Smethwick.

Ben Morutare from Walsall died after being stabbed in the leg outside a social club last month.

The 17-year-old from Ladywood was remanded in custody and will appear before Wolverhampton Crown Court on Friday.

Police are appealing for witnesses who may have been present on the road near to the club or had a car in the car park on the night that the incident occurred.

A teenager has been charged with the murder of 16-year-old Ben Morutare in Smethwick last month.

Ben was stabbed in the leg outside the Smethwick Home Guard and Old Comrades Club in the early hours of Saturday 28th July.

The 17-year-old boy charged is due to appear at Warley Magistrates Court tomorrow.

Police are appealing for witnesses who may have been present on the road near to the club or had a car in the car park on the night the incident occurred.
