Countryside campaigners have been voicing concerns about the planned high speed rail line between London and the Midlands. A meeting was held today on the site of the proposed HS2 route, two days before a judicial review begins into the multi-billion pound scheme.
A Birmingham Chamber of Commerce Group survey has revealed that Birmingham businesses are suffering from what it calls 'unacceptable delays and rising costs' due to congestion in the city.
61% of businesses that responded to the survey said they were affected by the congestion and 42% said that their reputation was being harmed.
Catering businesses reported unacceptable delays and three-quarters reported rising costs.
