More than 200 family members, friends and comrades of an Army officer killed by a roadside bomb attended his funeral today.
Captain Rupert Bowers, who was born in Wolverhampton and lived in Oakham in Rutland, died last month. He was operating as an adviser to the Afghan National Army when he was killed in the Nahr-e-Saraj distrcit of Helmand province.
Reverend David Humphries led the hour-long service at St Bartholomew's Church in Moreton Corbet in Shropshire, which was held with full military honours.

It was a full service which included tributes from his family and his regimental family, his fellow soldiers. People gave heartfelt tributes to Rupert. We prayed for his family and we prayed for those serving in Afghanistan.
