MP on London Midland disruptions: "Hopeful the worst is over now"

Train passengers plagued by delays and cancellations on services run by London Midland are to get a £7 million package of benefits.

Repeated staff shortages has led to serious disruption for many weeks in areas including Northampton. Now London Midland season ticket holders will be given five days of free travel passes. The company has cancelled nearly a thousand services since mid-October.

MP to hold talks over London Midland train chaos

The MP for Redditch Karen Lumley will today hold talks with the head of London Midland about the driver shortage, which has left hundreds of trains cancelled or delayed.

More than five hundred services have been affected since the start of October.

London Midland train chaos could end in legal action

Hundreds of cancellations and delays on London Midland trains could result in action from the Department of Transport.

The company has been forced to cancel hundreds of services due to crew shortages. Commons Leader Andrew Lansley warned the firm to improve "in short order" or face the threat of sanctions.
