Stoke City are through to the quarter finals of the Capital One Cup after beating the holders Chelsea on penalties.

Jonathan Walters' 52nd minute goal put the Potters ahead, before Loic Remy, on for the injured Diego Costa before half-time, fired home in injury-time to equalise.

Stoke then lost Phil Bardsley to a second yellow card shortly after.

With no score in extra time, the game went to penalties which ended 5-4, after Eden Hazard's spot-kick was saved by Jack Butland.

Romelu Lukaku is reportedly ready to open talks with West Bromwich Albion about extending his stay at The Hawthorns for another season.

He's on-loan from Chelsea, they have opted not to recall him.

The 19-year-old cost Chelsea £18 million when he moved from Anderlecht in 2011.

The Belgian international has said that he views the chance of regular football at West Brom as more beneficial to his career development.
