Five men, including three from the same Nottingham family, have been sentenced to a total of almost 30 years in prison for conspiring to supply heroin.
Nathan Pinder, 28, his cousin Jourdain Pinder, 22, and step-father Everton Melhado, 62, were in contact with Liverpool dealer Saeed Ahmed, 30.
Melhado was arrested in Staffordshire in July 2012 after his car was stopped on the A50 while he was on a return trip from Merseyside to Nottingham.
A package containing around half a kilo of heroin was found stored in the map pocket of the driver’s seat, with a street value of £50,000.
After uncovering a smuggling network, all five men were charged with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs, which they initially denied, but then later admitted.
