Motorcyclist airlifted to hospital after coming off his bike

An off-road motorcyclist has been airlifted to hospital after coming off his bike on a track in Solihull.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to Hampton-in-Arden shortly before 11.55am today.

A paramedic area support officer, an ambulance crew and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford attended to the incident.

The man, in his forties, was fully equipped with safety gear and clothing. He fell from his motorbike and suffered an isolated head injury. He was otherwise in a stable condition.

He was immobilised, given painkillers and was flown by the Midlands Air Ambulance to the major trauma centre at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham

Family run business Ridgway Rentals in Oswestry, Shropshire has found another way to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee.

This patriotic vehicle is taking part taking part in the Shropshire Diamond Jubilee parade at Cosford in front of Her Majesty on 12th July.

The lorry has received so much attention in fact that Corgi toys have even created a replica model of the truck.

RAF Museum takes delivery of Nimrod plane

The RAF Museum in Cosford in Shropshire has taken delivery of a Nimrod fuselage today.

It arrived in style and measured 38 metres in length.

The wings and some remaining parts of the aircraft will be delivered in the near future.

The Nimrod will be re-assembled on site before going on display.

RAF Museum Curator, Al McLean says:

"It was amazing to see such a large aircraft transported by road to Cosford and we are pleased to be receiving a Nimrod aircraft into the RAF Museum collection".
