One lane closed and heavy traffic due to a broken down vehicle on the M6 Southbound between J17 A534 (Sandbach / Crewe) and J16 A500 (Crewe / Stoke-On-Trent).
Arriva Trains Wales has announced that there are no services currently running between Crewe and Shrewsbury due to a problem under investigation.
There are reports of a lane closure and queueing traffic for five miles due to a broken down car on M6 Northbound between Junction 17 (Sandbach / Crewe) and Junction 18 (Middlewich / Holmes Chapel).
There is also congestion to Junction 16 (Crewe / Stoke-on-trent) in the roadworks area.
There are delays on London Midland trains this morning at Birmingham New Street and Crewe.
London Midland have tweeted the following:
There are delays of up to on hour on London Midland trains between Crewe and Stafford. It is due to electrical supply problems at Crewe.
The problem has now been resolved however trains running through these stations may continue to be delayed by up to 60 minutes while services return to normal.
There are delays on London Midland between Stoke-on-Trent and Crewe due to a house fire near the railway line at Alsager.
Whilst the fire brigade deal with the incident, the overhead electric wires have been turned off, closing the lines.
It is also affecting Northern and Virgin Trains West Coast.
