A 25-year-old man will appear before Birmingham Magistrates Court this morning (Wednesday 2 January) charged with murder.
The man was arrested at 12.40pm on Sunday by detectives investigating the death of a 22-year-old found near Knights Grove in Gravelly Hill the day before.
The man is the second to be charged with murder. Yesterday, a 21-year-old was remanded in custody following his short appearance before magistrates.
Second arrest made following discover of body found in a Birmingham alleyway
Police investigating the death of a man whose body was found in a Birmingham alleyway on Saturday have arrested a second man on suspicion of murder.
The 25-year-old was picked up by officers in Erdington at around 12:40pm yesterday. He's currently receiving treatment in hospital but is expected to be question by detectives later today.
It follows the arrest of a 21-year-old man within hours of the victim being found near Knights Grove.
A post-mortem examination revealed the 22-year-old victim died from a severe head injury.
Last night, detectives secured a custody extension against the 21-year-old which allows them to continue holding him until 6am on New Year’s Day.

A 21-year old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a body was found in Birmingham this morning.
West Midlands Police say a body was found on Knights Close in Gravelly Hill at around 7am.
