Weekend Picks: New Mills Carnival

New Mills Carnival: Sat 11th June (New Mills, High Peak, Derbyshire)

Thousands are expected to join the New Mills Carnival Parade in Derbyshire this weekend.

The theme this year will be Theatre and the parade will set off at 1pm from High St, making its way along Market Street.

Among those taking part are New Mills Brass band, Urban Gypsies, Kinder Mountain Rescue, the Tin Man and The Wicked Witch, as well as New Mills Army Cadets, all local schools, and community groups including The Art Theatre and New Mills Festival.

As well as the traditional fairground and organ, visitors can have a go at learning some circus skills, bushcraft survival skills and get up close with the Majestic owls.
