Council response on Oatcake shop
Councillor Ruth Rosenau, Stoke-on-Trent City Council cabinet member for regeneration, said:
– Councillor Ruth Rosenau, Stoke-on-Trent City CouncilThe original properties were coming to the end of their lifespan after more than 100 years of occupation and detailed reports showed many to be unsuitable for modern day requirements.As part of the plans alternative premises were offered to the oatcake business even looking at designing a brand new Hole in the Wall shop. However, the current owner has decided to take a much earned retirement after over 25 years serving the local community.
