Black Country jewellery business celebrates its 125th anniversary
A jewellery business in the Midlands is celebrating its 125th anniversary.
TH Baker was founded in 1888 on Brierley Hill High Street by Thomas Henry Baker and currently operates 20 stores.
The company is giving away prizes worth a total of £125,000 throughout the year to mark the anniversary.
Arrests after armed robbery
Five people have been arrested following an armed robbery at a jeweller's in Sparkhill.
Ten thieves armed with bats and hammers threatened staff at Gold City on Stratford Road just before 5pm on Saturday (5 January).
They stole thousands of pounds worth of jewellery before escaping.

Wanted man's picture
Police have released an image of a man they want to talk to about the theft of jewellery from a shop in Ashbourne, Derbyshire.
It happened at The Gold Place off The Market Place.
The man allegedly entered asked an assistant to show him a bracelet he had seen in the window.
He became aggressive and left the shop with the bracelet and a gold ring.
The man is described as being aged in his mid thirties, 5ft 6in tall with short dark hair and a tanned complexion.
He was wearing dark blue jeans and a white t-shirt with dark writing on it.
