Inquiry heard by cross party committee of MPs concludes HS2 should go ahead

An inquiry by a cross party committee of MPs has concluded that the HS2 project should go ahead because the alternatives on offer would not be able to cope with demand.

The group heard from a number of witnesses about the pros and cons of the proposed £33 billion pound rail link.

The MPs reject accusations from those opposed to HS2 that the evidence they considered was flawed.
