Leicestershire Foxes have completed the signing of New Zealand international Scott Styris, subject to visa approval.

The 38-year-old will become the club's second overseas player for the T20 competition, which gets underway for the club against Derbyshire on May 16.

Styris has previously played for two clubs in the Indian Premier League. He hit the headlines in 2012 when he scored a world record 38 runs in one over for Sussex.

He said:

Having played in two finals days in the last four years, I feel I have unfinished business in English T20 cricket and want to play a key role for a successful Foxes campaign.

Leicestershire thank Australian batsman

Leicestershire CCC have thanked Australian batsman Joe Burns for his input to the club, after it was announced he was to return home due to injury.

He is returning home for recuperation and treatment in order to prepare for Brisbane Heat’s trip to India in September for the Champions League. I would like to thank Joe for his contribution to the team and wish him well in his career in Australia.
