London Midland train disruptions due to trespassers on train line

There is disruption on London Midland train services on the following lines due to trespassers on the line between Northampton and Wolverton.

  • Between London Euston and Birmingham New Street
  • Between London Euston and Liverpool Lime Street
  • Between London Euston and Hereford
  • Between London Euston and Wolverhampton

Trains across the whole London Midland network are affected. Services may be delayed by up to 45 minutes or cancelled at short notice. Disruption is expected to continue until around 19:00.

MP on London Midland disruptions: "Hopeful the worst is over now"

Train passengers plagued by delays and cancellations on services run by London Midland are to get a £7 million package of benefits.

Repeated staff shortages has led to serious disruption for many weeks in areas including Northampton. Now London Midland season ticket holders will be given five days of free travel passes. The company has cancelled nearly a thousand services since mid-October.

More train cancellations due to driver shortage

An ongoing shortage of London Midland train drivers has caused 39 more services to be cancelled or disrupted.

London Midland said five shifts are affected today, which means 39 of its 1,300 trains are subject to alteration.

Almost 1000 services have been affected in total since October.

They added that 'new trainee drivers' will be qualified by mid-December.
