Man arrested in Birmingham murder inquiry

Detectives investigating the death of a man in Erdington have arrested a 27-year-old local man in connection with the incident.

The victim was found around lunchtime yesterday.

The local man was arrested last night in Kingsbury Road, near to where the victim's body was discovered, and is currently being questioned.

Police are trying to contact the victim's family to formally identify him.

A post mortem examination is due on Monday to find out exactly how he died.


Chelmsley Wood murder inquiry launched

West Midlands Police have started a murder inquiry following a fatal stabbing of a 24-year-old man in Chelmsley Wood.

Police were called just before 5am yesterday to the Craig Croft shopping precinct in Dunster Road.

A post-mortem examination revealed the man died from a stab wound to the chest.

A 24-year-old local man was arrested in connection with the stabbing later on Sunday morning.

The victim is yet to be identified.
