The Bishop of Shrewsbury, the Right Reverend Mark Davies, says the church service he led in Greater Manchester this morning is helping people across the country come to terms with the tragic deaths of the two police officers earlier this week.
The Bishop of Shrewsbury has conduced a service in Hattersley in Greater Manchester for the two officers killed there on Tuesday (23 September).
The congregation observed a two-minute silence to remember PC Fiona Bone, who spent much of her early life in Castle Donington in Leicestershire, and PC Nicola Hughes.

A special service is being held in Nottingham today (23 September), to remember the two police officers who were killed in Manchester.PC Nicola Hughes and PC Fiona Bone were killed as they responded to a call on Tuesday morning (18 September).
The parents of PC Bone, who spent her early life in Castle Donington in Leicestershire, paid tribute to her, saying they have "lost a wonderful daughter, sister, partner and parent".
The service is taking place at St Peter's Church later this afternoon.
