Bob Jones became one of nine newly-elected Commissioners across the Midlands, when votes were cast on Wednesday.
The election saw the lowest number of people voting for a peacetime election.
Just over eleven per cent of the electorate turned out across Staffordshire, with Stoke-on-Trent having one of the lowest turnouts in Britain. In the West Midlands 12 per cent of people voted.
Bob Jones, a Labour Commissioner, explained to ITV Central his strategy to drive crime figures down.
An historic election - the biggest shakeup in the running of midlands police forces in more than fifty years. But hardly anyone bothered to turn out and vote for Police and Crime Commissioners. In Staffordshire the turn out was just under 12 per cent.
The job of Commissioner is a big one. He or she takes control of multi-million pound police budgets - they can hire and fire the chief constable. The government said the idea was to let ordinary people have a say via one elected official.

PCC ELECTIONS STAFFORDSHIRE
Matthew Ellis has been elected as the new Police and Crime Commissioner for Staffordshire.
The turnout was 11.97% the lowest in the whole of the Midlands.
