A cyclist has died following a road accident in Birmingham last night.
The collision between a car and a cyclist happened on Gilhurst Road in Harborne at around 6.45pm.
Passers-by were giving the cyclist CPR when crews arrived.
Medics then took over resuscitation attempts and advanced life support was carried out at the scene.
Sadly, nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed dead shortly after arriving at Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
Nobody else was injured in the accident.
A woman has been fatally injured following a collision between a lorry and a pedestrian near Lichfield in the early hours of this morning.
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the junction of the A38 and Fradley Lane, between Fradley and Hilliard’s Cross, shortly after 12.40am. An ambulance and a paramedic area support officer to the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Crews arrived to find a lorry and pedestrian that had been in collision.
“The pedestrian, a woman, had suffered significant injuries in the collision.
“Unfortunately, it quickly became evident that nothing could be done to save her and she was confirmed dead at the scene.
“The lorry driver, a man, was assessed by medics and discharged on scene.”
Police are appealing for witnesses after an 18-month-old boy was injured during a collision in Calverton, Nottingham this morning.
Police were called just before 8.30am to the crash between a Mitsubishi Colt car and a Ford Transit van in Longdale Lane.
The child who was a passenger in the car, was transferred to the Queen's Medical Centre with suspected serious injuries and is currently in a stable condition.
Drivers of both vehicles sustained minor injuries.
The road is currently closed in both directions between the scene of the crash and the A614 roundabout with Longdale Lane.
