A 42-year-old man has been charged with burgling the Shree Hindu Temple on St Barnabas Road, Leicester.
Police believe the break happened on April 7.
The accused, who hasn't been named, appeared today at Leicester Magistrates’ Court, and was remanded in custody for a week.
He has also been charged with six other burglaries around Leicester.
Sikhs across the region have held special prayers in tribute to their fellow worshippers who were shot dead at a temple in America.
