Plans to build a controversial waste incinerator in Derby are expected to be given the go ahead.
Campaigners lost a High Court battle over the plans for a site in Sinfin. If it's built it will deal with more than 200,000 tonnes of Derbyshire's household waste every year.
A 40-year-old man from Derby has been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent to endanger life after a suspected assault on a man in Sinfin on Saturday afternoon.
The injured man, who was also 40-years-old, died in hospital this afternoon.
A post-mortem examination will be carried out tomorrow to determine the cause of death.
The assault happened on Grampian Way around 3.00pm. Pavol Juril appeared at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates' Court this morning where he was remanded in custody until 3rd September.
