Roads, rail and runways hit by heavy snowfall

It's been a day of disruption across the West Midlands - all thanks to the inches of snow that have been falling since the early morning. There were amber weather warnings for large parts of the region.

For those that did need to make journeys they faced cancellations and delays with buses and trains, and road conditions have been dangerous in many places. Lee Comley reports.

Slosh, slopes and snowmen - the East Midlands picture

Large parts of the East Midlands are still covered in snow tonight and for many, it's been a day of travel chaos. There's been disruption on the roads, trains and with flights. But for others, the snow was an opportunity to go out and have some fun. Rajiv Popat reports.

Winter weather: the orangutan stocking up on snow

It's not just us having fun in the snow, animals are getting into the thick of it too - this video by Twycross Zoo teams in Leicestershire shows Mal the female orangutan making a snowball - the zoo say Mal and lots of their other animals are loving the weather !
