An image of the Chancellor George Osborne features on the front page of a national paper today, with the distinctive hair style of the former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher from Grantham, Lincolnshire.

The Daily Mail front page coverage follows his budget announcement yesterday, where he refused to change course from him deficit cutting policies.

The headline is "The laddie's not for turning", a reference to a famous quote from the Iron Lady.

Midlands breweries welcome Chancellor's duty slash

The Chancellor George Osborne has today announced in the Budget 2013 a duty slash in beer.

The news has been welcomed in the Midlands, which is widely seen as the brewing heart of Britain.

In total, one pence has been cut off a pint of beer on top of scrapping a three pence duty escalation altogether.

The push to halt the rise started after the Budget 2012 by real ale campaign group Camra (Campaign for Real Ale).

Its Save Your Pint petition secured almost 109,000 signatures and in turn forced a Parliamentary Debate.
