Chairman fully behind Stoke City boss Pulis

Chairman of Stoke City, Peter Coates, understands the fans' negative reaction to recent results, but insists the club is continuing to progress under manager Tony Pulis.

Stoke city has won only one of its last nine Barclays Premier League games and some fans have vented their frustration toward Pulis.

Coates believes recent performances have not been as bad as results would indicate.

Stoke manager Tony Pulis feels Robert Huth has "let himself down" with the antics in last Saturday's 1-0 Barclays Premier League defeat at Fulham. The incident has landed the centre-back with a three-game suspension.

Huth will serve the ban having opted not to contest a violent conduct charge brought against him this week by the Football Association.

The incident - missed by match officials at the time - saw the German catch Cottagers defender Philippe Senderos in the face with his forearm.
