Derby County Football Club have apologised to the family of Nigel Doughty, Nottingham Forest Football Club and all supporters in attendance at Pride Park Stadium on Tuesday night for the behaviour of a small group of people at last night's game.

Derby County apologise to father of late Nottingham Forest chairman after fans chant about his death

Tom Glick, Chief Executive at Derby County FC, talking about Nigel Doughty's father who was in the crowd at Pride Park last night.

"Whether Mr Doughty was able to hear what happened- I don't know. I have written to him today to express the club's and my personal regrets as to what's happened. It's just really unfortunate.

"I think this is something that all of at the club need to understand is not acceptable. It's not representative of our fans. We have amazing fan's at Derby County.

"Something like this is highly unusual. We want to make sure that we're clear about that. Those fans that were involved..I certainly hope they're embarrassed and regret what they've done."
