Mother and daughter in hospital after hit and run

Police are looking for four men who ran from the scene of hit and run in which a mother and daughter were injured.

A 54-year-old woman and her 15-year-old daughter were hurt when the car they were travelling in was hit by another vehicle on Birchfield Road in Perry Barr at 6:45pm on Sunday evening.

The men - who are all believed to be Asian - were travelling in a green Honda Civic when it collided with a blue Toyota.

The mother suffered serious head injuries and is still in hospital, while her fifteen-year-old daughter was treated for minor injuries at the Birmingham Children's Hospital.

"We urgently want to trace these men; they ran from the scene of a serious collision without the slightest concern for a mum and young girl who lay injured."The four men are all believed to be of Asian origin and aged between 18- and 25-years-old. All will have obvious injuries, including facial cuts, and one will be missing a distinctive pair of blue-framed glasses with powerful lenses.

The car the men were travelling in was abandoned at the scene and police believe it was stolen. It's being forensically examined.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
