Housing inquiry begins

The arguments for and against a huge housing development in a Shakespearian village were played out today. A developer wants to build two new housing estates with 800 homes near the village of Shottery near Stratford upon Avon. But locals are against it and the council's turned it down.

A planning inspector started hearing evidence today. The final decision will be made by the government which last week said it was relaxing planning laws to favour development. But who will win? The developer or the locals?
