A student hit by an unmarked police car in Birmingham who later died from his injuries has been identified by police as 24-year-old Xuan Wei Zhang.
It happened outside the Newtown shopping centre at about 7pm on Wednesday 4 April.
Mr Zhang, who was from China, was a student at Birmingham City University.
His mother and father flew into the UK on Thursday to formally identify their son.
West Midlands Police says the matter has been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission, which has yet to confirm whether it will investigate.
