Over 20 Items owned by Mahatma Gandhi were sold at an auction in Ludlow in Shropshire today.
Gandhi's possessions triggered some competitive bidding, as his famous spectacles and a charka went for a total of £60,000.
The guide price on the spectacles was £10,000, but the hammer went down at £34,000.
The charkha, (a spinning wheel used to make cotton) went for £10,000 more than its £15,000 guide price, fetching £26,000.
