Samaritans deliver statement on behalf of Squires family

She said: “This is a very difficult time for everyone. The funeral service was very moving and all the family and friends here today are a testament to the wonderful woman that Claire was.
We are all incredibly proud of Claire, a person who always put others before herself.
“We would like to say thank you to the thousands of people who have kindly donated in Claire’s memory, we wish it was not under these heartbreaking circumstances. During this challenging time, Claire’s family has found comfort from the amazing reaction from the general public.
“The warmth shown to Claire’s family, friends and Samaritans has been extraordinary and Claire has touched the lives of thousands.
Samaritans is usually in the role of offering support to the nation, and we have been overwhelmed by the way in which the nation has chosen to support us."
