Shopper numbers are down significantly

Richard Dodd from the British Retail Consortium says that shopper numbers are down considerably all over the UK.

He says it's a reflection of short term difficulties and recent bad weather.

Shop vacancy figures, however, are still considerably high.

Midlands Retail Outlook

New figures out today from the British Retail Consortium on UK high streets shows the West Midlands has one of the worst 'shop vacancy rates' in the country. The report also says the East Midlands has had one of the lowest declines in footfall.
