Residents living in the Lydford Road area of Alfreton are being urged by police to close their windows and doors as a precaution whilst emergency services tackle a fire.
Forty firefighters are currently at the scene trying to get the fire under control.
The fire, which broke out on an industrial estate at 12.10pm today has caused concern due to the smoke and possible harmful chemicals it may contain.
Lydford Road has been closed whilst firefighters tackle the blaze, the cause is not yet known.
