William pays tribute to Queen in speech
Prince William paid tribute to the charity set up to protect outdoor recreational space and playing fields 'Field in Trust' before the Queen unveiled a plaque to mark Vernon Park's new Queen Elizabeth II status.
"On behalf of Fields in Trust thank you so much your Majesty and the Duke of Edinburgh, how grateful we all are for the extraordinary devotion and love you have shown to the people of the country and the Commonwealth.
"The Queen has been patron of 'Fields in Trust' formally 'The National Playing Fields' for 60 years of her reign.
"My Grandfather the Duke of Endinburgh who very sadly cannot be here today, has been president for 64 years.
"Fields in Trust I know is a charity close to my grand-parents heart's as it is to mine.
