A man has been airlifted to hospital and five others have been injured in a crash on the M42 in Warwickshire this morning.
It happened on the southbound between junctions 10 and 9, near Tamworth, shortly before 9.00am.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said:
“On arrival crews found two cars and two vans which had been involved in a collision which had left six people injured.
"The driver of one van, a man in his 20s, was trapped in his vehicle and was unconscious.
"The man was anaesthetised...before being airlifted by the Midlands Air Ambulance to the Major Trauma Centre at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham for further emergency treatment.
"Five other patients from the other vehicles involved suffered minor injuries ranging from whiplash to back pain."
