A 3-year-old girl who was just hours from dying after contracting Meningitis has amazed doctors by making a full recovery.
Erica Scoffings, from Chesterfield, had a slight temperature back in January when her mum, Michelle, put her to bed as normal.
Later that night, she cried out for a glass of water and her mum noticed purple blotches all over her body as well as a sky high temperature.
She and her husband, Michael, drove her straight to hospital where she was diagnosed with, potentially fatal, Meningococcal Septicaemia.
She was 3 hours from death, her legs went black and doctors told them, even if she did survive, she may have to have her legs amputated.
Amazingly, Erica did pull through and is learning to walk again. Her mum kept a photo diary of her daughters illness which clearly show how rapid her decline was.
She wants to raise awareness of how to spot the signs of Meningitis.
