Chesterfield have confirmed on their website that they have sacked manager John Sheridan.
The team were relegated from League One last season and failed to win any of their competitive games this campaign.
47-year-old John Sheridan saw the club drop to the bottom tier despite leading the club to promotion in 2010-2011.
The Chesterfield FC website simply says:
"Chesterfield Football Club have announced that manager John Sheridan has been relieved of his duties with immediate effect."
