A Leicestershire couple involved in the shooting of suspected burglars at their home have expressed their thanks for public support.
"The past few days have been difficult beyond belief. We are grateful and humbled by the support we have received."
Yesterday it was revealed the couple would not face any charges.
Police arrested them at their home in Welby near Melton after Mr Ferrie told them he opened fire on intruders. Two men appeared in court yesterday charged with burglary.
Daniel Mansell pleaded guilty and will be sentenced next month. Joshua O' Gorman did not enter a plea.
