The family of murdered schoolgirl Megan Leigh-Peat issued a statement read by police outside Luton Crown Court.
Andrew Hall - a former scholar at Stoke City's football academy - was found guilty of her murder. He will serve a minimum of ten years in prison.
Hall stabbed Megan 60 times with two different knives following an argument about his jealousy.
