The TV and radio presenter and well known petrol head, Chris Evans, has bought the iconic Dunlop Bridge. It used to span the Donington Park race circuit.
The broadcaster bought the piece of racing memorabilia for £250, Donington Park confirmed this morning.
The proceeds, raised from the sale, are going to Hope Against Cancer – a charity based in Leicester.
The Bridge, which stood for 30 years, was taken down in 2009 at the start of work to upgrade the track in the previous operator's failed bid to host the British Grand Prix.
Radio DJ and TV presenter Chris Evans says buying Donington Park's famous Dunlop bridge was "a total accident".
The iconic Dunlop Bridge, which used to span the Donington Park race circuit, is being auctioned to raise money for a cancer charity.
