The Wellingborough MP Peter Bone has said he's optimistic that new Justice Secretary Chris Grayling may be persuaded to keep Wellingborough prison open.
Currently the prison is earmarked for closure, a move which could mean the loss of around 600 jobs in the town.
Mr Bone says Chris Grayling has promised to visit the prison and reassess the situation.

Monday will see another fine and dry day after a cloudier start for some.
Low cloud will gradually become confined to the coast allowing sunny spells in the afternoon.
Into the evening it will remain dry with the best of the clear spells in the west.
