Police look for people who helped human trafficking victim

Police are trying to trace the people who helped a human trafficking victim who was driven to Derby yesterday afternoon.

The 17-year-old was dropped off in Chaddesden by a man driving a dark blue car. She got out of the car and asked members of the public for directions to the nearest police station.

She was directed to the station, where she told officers she had been trafficked into the UK three years ago.

She does not know where in the country she has been.

Officers are now trying to trace her movements in Derby and identify the car and driver.

Several passers-by offered her help and officers are keen to speak to these people.

The young woman is black, around 5ft 7ins tall and she was wearing a black and white polka dot top.

Anyone who can help police should call officers on 101.
