Leicestershire tourism valued at £1.4bn
Tourism in Leicestershire was valued at £1.402bn in 2011 compared with £1.321bn in 2010.
The research, conducted by Scarborough Tourism Economic Activity Monitor (STEAM), found that there were 30.71 million tourist vists with 20,012 jobs supported by tourism.
The research also showed a 9.65% increase in expenditure and revenue for the accommodation sector. A rise of £24 million to £247 million in 2011.
