Speed cameras and traffic management schemes have cut serious accidents on ten previously dangerous stretches of road, according to a survey.

Fatal and serious crashes on the 10 most improved routes have dipped from 541 in the period 2001-2005 to 209 in 2006-2010, the study from the Road Safety Foundation showed.

The most dangerous road in the Midlands is the A451 from Kidderminster to Stourbridge.

Three of the most improved roads in the country are in the East Midlands - including the A52 between Nottingham & Bingham.
