A five-year-old girl is fighting for her life tonight after being knocked down in a suspected hit-and-run.
She was struck by a car on College Road, Kingstanding, in Birmingham at about 6.30pm today after becoming separated from her mother and wandering into the carriageway.
The car was heading towards Chester Hill and failed to stop after the collision. The girl was taken to hospital with multiple injuries. Part of College Road near the fire station was closed off while police examined the scene.
