A driver has come forward after a 5-year-old girl was left critically injured by being hit by a car in Birmingham last night.
Police say the girl was hit on College Road, Kingstanding at around 6.30pm after she became separated from her mother and walked onto the carriageway.
At around 11pm last night a 36-year-old man handed himself in to police at a Birmingham station, he was voluntarily interviewed in relation to the accident and his car was seized.
The girl currently remains in a critical condition in hospital this morning (24 October) after suffering multiple injuries. Police enquiries are ongoing.
