George Cowcher, Chief Executive of the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce said today that Lord Heseltine's review of UK competitiveness, is an issue they have been lobbying for some time.
"The Chamber welcomes recommendations contained in this wide-reaching report, which identifies a number of priority areas such as education, infrastructure, planning and access to finance, which need to be addressed in order to boost the strength of the UK as a whole, by placing greater emphasis on the growth of the regional economies."
A Report is being launched today by Lord Heseltine, exploring ways of stimulating economic growth in the West Midlands.
Lord Heseltine was given a warm welcome at Birmingham's town hall as he addressed members of the city's private and public sector.
