An event has been held at the St Paul's and St Silas Church in Birmingham, in support of Pakistani schoolgirl Malala and today's action day, set up in her name.
Schoolpupils, MPs and well-wishers gathered at the event to express their solidarity and support for Malala's campaign for equal rights to education for girls in Pakistan.
Malala Yousufzai, the 15 year old shot in the head by the Taliban, has been reunited with her friend who was injured in the same attack.
It is the first day of term in Swat Valley Pakistan and the girls in High School have much to be thankful for.
Speaking for the first time since her attack by the Taliban, schoolgirl Malala Yousafzai said she wants every child to be educated.
